Telehealth Consent

Last updated: 12 August 2026

Draft: this consent form is a working draft and hasn't had legal review yet. It should be reviewed by the clinic and by a lawyer familiar with health-care regulation in the countries Safe Space serves before it is relied on for real patients.

Therapy at Safe Space happens over video. This page explains what that means in practice, and what you're agreeing to when you book. Please read it before your first session — you'll be asked to confirm you have.

1. This is not an emergency service

Safe Space cannot help in an emergency. Your therapist is not available between sessions, and nobody monitors this platform outside session hours. If you are in immediate danger, or thinking about harming yourself or someone else, contact your local emergency services now.

Crisis and urgent support

2. Online therapy is not right for everyone

Video sessions work well for many people and many concerns, but not all. Some conditions and situations need in-person care, closer supervision, or a service that can respond between sessions. Your therapist will tell you if they believe online therapy isn't appropriate for you, and will help you find a more suitable option. Being told this is not a rejection — it means the care you need is a different shape.

3. Technology, and its limits

Sessions are held over a Google Meet video link that your therapist sends before the session. A few things follow from that:

4. Sessions are not recorded

Safe Space does not record video or audio of any session, and neither you nor your therapist may record one without the other's explicit written agreement. What is written down is described in the next section.

5. What your therapist writes down

After a session your therapist may upload a written report. It is stored securely, and it can be read only by you, your therapist and clinic administrators. You can view and download your own reports from your session page at any time.

6. Confidentiality, and where it ends

What you say in a session is confidential. There are narrow exceptions, which apply to therapy everywhere and not just online:

Wherever possible, your therapist will discuss it with you before sharing anything.

7. You can stop at any time

You can end a session, change therapist, or stop using Safe Space whenever you want, and you do not have to give a reason. You can also withdraw this consent — contact the clinic and we will close your access to booking. Withdrawing consent does not undo sessions that have already happened, and does not by itself delete records the clinic is required to keep.

8. Fees, cancellation and your data

What a session costs, and what happens if you cancel or need to move it, is set out in full in the Cancellation, Rescheduling & Refund Policy. What we store about you, and your rights over it, is set out in the Privacy Policy.

9. Questions

If anything here is unclear, ask before you book — through the Contact page, or with your therapist at the start of your first session.
